Food & Wine
Discover the taste of Patagonia
The food at Tierra Hotels is simple, hearty, and delicious. We use seafood from the Straits of Magellan and Beagle Canal, meats and lamb from the nearby ranches as well as calafate and myrtle berries from the pampas around us.
There are tasty options and imaginative vegetarian meals, we will make every effort to meet any special dietary needs, just be sure to let reservation team know when making your booking. Locally sourced fresh food and Patagonian authenticity mean a lot to us in the Tierra Patagonia kitchen!
A typical starter would be locally sourced king crab set in a flavorful gazpacho soup. This would be followed by a choice of Garron of roasted lamb accompanied by candied vegetables with puree of polenta or Southern hake with cream of avocado and shrimp flambé in pisco. For dessert, a delicious Calafate tiramisu and pine nuts and caramelized rhubarb.
Wine & Spirits
Chile is well known for its excellent wines, both reds and whites, and Tierra Patagonia's extensive wine list features a wide variety of Chilean wines. If you are new to Chilean wine, you might want to try a carmenere which is a grape that became extinct in France, but which grows well in Chile. Similar to merlot, the Chilean carmeneres are easy on the palate. Other wines available include a selection of Chilean chardonnays, sauvignon blancs, merlots and cabernet sauvignons, as well as pinot noir and syrahs. We particularly recommend choosing your wine to match the dish of your choice with the help of our staff.
At the bar we serve a full range of cocktails from the traditional to the modern, not forgetting the Chilean national drink – the Pisco Sour and artisan beers from local breweries.
The Red Table
The dining area is casually elegant with handsome wooden tables and chairs and fine flatware, linens and glassware. While most guests will choose a private table, our dining space is made dramatic not only by the magnificent view of the lake and mountains, but also by its iconic long red table. Mirroring the long blue table of Tierra Atacama Hotel & Spa, in Tierra Patagonia the signature table is a warm burgundy color, a nod by the designers to the red gateposts of the ranches in the area. It lends personality to the ambiance by both its warm color and the joy and laughter of the people sitting around it.
